Frequently Asked Questions – Ripsnorta™ Horse Rug Repair System

How many repairs will I get?

Each repair is individual and only an average can be stated. As a guide, the approximate repair capabilities of a 250g unit with a 50mm width of Repair Fabric would be 2 lineal metres, or an average of 8-12 repairs of 8cm each in length.

How long before it's dry?

This depends on the ambient temperature but as a guide, 2-3 hours. However, it is recommended to leave overnight.

What is the compound's shelf life?

Store in original containers in a cool dry place for maximum durability.

Is it waterproof?

Yes.

Is it safe to use?

Yes. The Repair Compound is water-based, non-toxic and specifically developed for the repair of horse rugs.

What type of rugs can it be used on?

The Repair Compound is suitable for use on canvas, cotton, synthetic and most other commonly used materials.

Do rugs need to be clean?

It is recommended that the rug be as clean as is practicable. Remove as much surface dirt as possible by using an appropriate brush.

Does the rug need to be dry?

The repair can be achieved on a damp rug. Care should be taken in these situations.

How strong is the repair?

The repair compound has been developed to become an integral part of the horse rug. Therefore it becomes as strong as the fabric it is repairing.

Do you have to repair both sides of the rug?

No. It is recommended to repair the outside of the rug. However, it is possible, if accessible, to facilitate the repair from the underside of the rug.

How long does it take to do a repair?

The more you do, the quicker you get. On average a few minutes for small repairs.
